Free SIP / Investment Calculator Online
Investing regularly? Our free SIP / Investment Calculator projects how your money could grow the moment you enter your numbers. As a fast and reliable sip calculator, it takes your monthly investment, expected return, and time period and instantly estimates your maturity value — clearly splitting how much you invested from the returns you could earn.
But it does more than one figure. Add a one-time lump sum, switch your contribution frequency, or turn on step-up SIP to increase your investment each year, and watch the projection update. A growth chart and a year-by-year breakdown show how compounding builds your corpus over time, and you can switch between international and Indian number formats with every figure shown in words as you type. Whether you're planning for a goal, retirement, or just exploring, the full picture is right there.
Simply enter your investment details to see the estimate instantly. No sign-up, no downloads, no limits — just clear projections whenever you need them.
About the SIP / Investment Calculator
Key features
SIP future value
Projects your maturity value from regular contributions at your chosen frequency, clearly splitting the amount you invested from estimated returns.
Optional lump sum
Combine a one-time lump sum with your SIP contributions in a single projection, showing the combined corpus at the end of the term.
Contribution frequency
Supports monthly, quarterly, and yearly contribution schedules. Switch frequency and see the projection update immediately.
Step-up SIP
Set an annual percentage increase to your contribution — mirroring salary growth — and see how the accelerating investment boosts your corpus over time.
Growth chart
An SVG chart plots total invested vs portfolio value over the full investment period, making the compounding effect visually clear.
Year-by-year breakdown
A table shows total invested, portfolio value, and estimated returns at the end of each year so you can track exactly how your corpus grows.
Indian & international number formats
Toggle between Indian (lakh / crore) and international (thousand / million) grouping. Defaults to Indian since SIP is a primarily India-centric product.
Live numbers-in-words
Key inputs and all summary outputs show the figure in words as you type — a quick sanity check against accidental extra zeros.
How SIP compounding works
Each instalment you invest starts earning returns from the moment it enters the fund. Earlier instalments compound for longer, so the growth curve accelerates over time rather than rising in a straight line. This is why a long investment horizon makes a disproportionate difference to your final corpus — a 10-year SIP at 12% does not return twice as much as a 5-year SIP, it returns significantly more because the early instalments have compounded for so long.
The step-up option amplifies this further: by increasing your contribution each year you add more capital precisely when earlier instalments have already had time to compound, giving the biggest boost to the later years of your projection.
Who it's for
Mutual fund investors
Model existing or planned SIPs in equity, hybrid, or debt funds to see how they could grow at different assumed return rates.
Goal-based planners
Work backwards from a target corpus — adjust the monthly amount, return, and period until the maturity value meets your goal (house, education, retirement).
First-time investors
Understand how even a small monthly investment can grow into a significant corpus over a long period through the power of compounding.
Financial planners
Quickly illustrate projections to clients, comparing different SIP amounts, frequencies, step-up rates, and time horizons side by side.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the SIP calculator work?
Enter your regular investment amount, expected annual return rate, and how many years you plan to invest. The tool instantly estimates your maturity value and shows the split between the amount you put in (total invested) and the gains you could earn — no submit button needed.
What is a SIP?
A Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) lets you invest a fixed amount at regular intervals — usually monthly — into a mutual fund. Instead of timing the market with a large lump sum, you spread investment over time, averaging your purchase cost and benefiting from compounding on every instalment.
Is this SIP calculator free to use?
Yes, it's completely free — no sign-up, no downloads, and no usage limits. Run as many projections as you need, whenever you need them.
Can I add a lump sum alongside my SIP?
Yes. Enter a one-time amount in the optional Lump Sum field and the calculator adds it to your starting balance, compounding it alongside your regular SIP contributions. The summary shows the combined maturity value, total invested, and estimated returns.
What is step-up SIP?
A step-up (or top-up) SIP automatically increases your contribution by a fixed percentage each year. For example, a 10% step-up on a ₹5,000 monthly SIP means you invest ₹5,500 in year 2, ₹6,050 in year 3, and so on. This mirrors income growth and can substantially boost your maturity value. The calculator applies the step-up at the end of each year and reflects it in the year-by-year breakdown.
How accurate is the estimate?
The calculator uses a month-by-month compounding simulation with your chosen return rate applied as a constant each month. Real mutual fund returns fluctuate with market conditions — some years higher, some lower — so treat the result as an indicative projection for planning purposes, not a guaranteed outcome.
Does it show a year-by-year growth breakdown?
Yes. A table shows total invested, portfolio value, and estimated returns at the end of each year, so you can see exactly how your corpus builds over time. A growth chart alongside plots the invested amount vs portfolio value, making the compounding curve visually clear.
Can I switch between Indian and international number formats?
Yes. Use the Number system toggle to switch between Indian (10,00,000 = ten lakh) and international (1,000,000 = one million) grouping. All numbers — inputs, summary cards, chart axes, and the breakdown table — update immediately. A live numbers-in-words display beneath key fields gives you a quick sanity check against accidental extra zeros.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Your figures are never sent to a server, stored in a database, or logged anywhere. Close the tab and the data is gone.
Should I make investment decisions based on this calculator?
This is an educational estimation tool, not financial advice. Mutual fund investments carry market risk — past performance does not guarantee future returns and the value of your investment can go up or down. Always read the scheme information document (SID) and consult a qualified financial advisor before investing.
